We’ve won a traveller’s choice award 2022!

by | Sep 22, 2022

Every year, Tripadvisor celebrates attractions that consistently deliver brilliant experiences with a Travellers’ Choice Award—and this year, we are proud to say we are part of an exclusive group, ranking among the top 10% of listings on Tripadvisor.

Our one-of-a-kind tour is recommended for anyone interested in salt’s place in our history, culture, food and in what makes Halen Môn Sea Salt a world-famous seasoning. We finish with a tutored sea salt tasting.

Our innovative building is nestled in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and houses a contemporary gift shop too, full of wares from near and far (you don’t need to book a tour to visit the shop.) We also have an outdoor cafe – Tide/ Llanw – which always has cover from the elements in our tipi surrounded by a wild flower meadow, and plenty of  home-made cakes and hot drinks.

A recent tour review:

I persuaded my husband and our 4 friends to do the tour but was a bit worried that they would give me some stick for it being a bit dry. How wrong could I be!

Rob delivered a really interesting and informative presentation and it was lovely to see how passionate he is about his job and the company.

I had no idea that salt could pack so much flavour if produced with so much care and how many varieties there are and the range of products it is used for.

The tour has completely changed my view and will certainly change my shopping habits. The shop had lots of different types of sea salt and a wide range of other lovely items too. We all bought more than we expected to! A great experience and thoroughly recommended.” @Mr-and-Mrs-CP, Tripadvisor, 4th July 2022.

Definitely worth a visit We should have been doing a coastal walk today, but the ground was too wet, so we drove on down to Halen Mon Sea salt company on recommendation of others. I'm so glad we did, as we got there just before a tour was due ( you can book them ). Rob was our guide and very informative, encouraged us to ask questions as we went around. At the end, we had a salt tasting, which was very interesting, and even a taste of gin, as they now work with someone to produce this. The shop is full of their produce, all using their own salt. It was definitely a good change of plan for us, and I would recommend a visit.

Salty tasting time Visited Halen Mon due to a poor weather weekend. Really pleased we did. The tour was relaxed and educational and Rob was friendly and informative. The salt does taste better than you would imagine before the tasting experience, and this encouraged us to buy treats in the lovely gift shop. Would highly recommend.

Anglesey Sea Salt - A must visit! This is a must visit for your family and will convert you from ever using ordinary salt ever again. Anglesey Seal Salt (Halen Mon) is set in a beautiful corner of Anglesey looking over the The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and the tour of the factory was so interesting and informative. Mike - our guide was great fun and was able to answer any question we threw at him. The Salted Caramel Sauce and the Gin were a particular favourite and we indulged heavily in the shop after the tour. Go visit when you're next on Anglesey - you won't be disappointed.

The seaweed bath was an exceptional experience We turned up on the wrong day for the seaweed bath and they were so lovely and accommodating. Thankfully they fitted us in. This was an exceptional experience, my skin feels amazing and it was so relaxing. The manager was a really lovely bloke, explained how things worked and was very respectful of our privacy when it came time to get in the barrel. The company, the staff, the salt, the views were all mind blowing. Worth every penny 😊

10/10 Tours Had the most amazing tour this morning by the lovely and insightful Rob. So interesting to see the makings of the Anglesey sea salt. Purchased some goodies on the way out and will be back for sure next time we’re in the area. Thank you Halen Môn!

Informative, friendly and enjoyable Mike led our tour and he was good at explaining the manufacturing process, with good humour. The tasting part was very interesting and really highlighted why Halen Môn salt is so good. We then bought some as well as other lovely items from their shop. We also heard very positive things from other visitors about the seaweed baths and that’s definitely on the list to try on a return visit. A HUGE thank you must go to Rob, the Visitor Centre Manager. As he was trying to lock up and go home, he gallantly came to our rescue as we struggled with an electric vehicle charger and, after making a phone call on our behalf, managed to get us sorted out. I should stress here that the problem was nothing to do with their onsite charger itself.

Well worth a visit We did the tour with Mike who was very informative. We enjoyed hearing the story of how Halen Môn came to be and seeing the processing areas. The tastings were enjoyable and we came away with salt, salted caramel (wow) and a bottle of their gin!
