Top notch BBQ tools
Cooking over coals is a highlight of summer for us, though we’ve been known to fire up the outdoor ovens in months when the weather isn’t kind too.
An outdoor kitchen or woodoven is a common occurance in lots of cultures around the world, and while Wales isn’t famous for the hottest summers, we can barbecue along with the best of them.
Here we’ve collected some of our ultimate summer kitchen tools – from an iconic way to cook an egg to the classic fire bowl.

Alice’s egg spoon
A hand-forged iron spoon perfect for frying an egg in the fireplace or over a flame. When Chez Panisse founder, Alice Waters read William Rubel’s The Magic of Fire: Hearth Cooking, she asked a blacksmith to make a spoon that would cook an egg in the coals. It’s now an iconic tool.

Steel frying pan
From Alex Pole, hand spun with a tactile forged handle. Ideal for searing, grilling or frying meat, fish, eggs or vegetables, made to be used on open fire.

Hand forged tongs
Exquistitely hand made and very handy for use on the barbecue or camp fire.

Cast iron fire pit
Extends the summer evenings outside, bringing warmth to the party whilst offering a chance to cook outside. Not just for toasting marshmallows.

Simple cooking tripod + chain
A heavy duty, simple and traditional method for cooking in the wild, on the campsite, at the beach or allotment or in the garden directly on frames. Remember, the tripod doesn’t come with a pan, you’ll need one of these too.
