Tours run twice a day, Thursday – Sunday. 11am and 3pm. Group bookings are welcomed, please get in touch with us for bespoke options. Our site, shop and tours are fully accessible to wheelchair users.

Please note it is not possible to bring dogs on the tour.

Our award-winning Saltcote and Visitor Centre is a unique building on the banks of the of Menai Strait in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, next door to Anglesey Sea Zoo in Brynsiencyn.

We are proud to be one of Wales’ most innovative food businesses, and offer a one-of-a-kind Behind the Scenes tour for anyone interested in salt’s place in our history, culture and in what makes Halen Môn Sea Salt PDO a standout product.

Led by a trained guide (read more about them here) the tour lasts approx 45 minutes and finishes with a tutored salt tasting.

As well as being where we make our sea salt, our Saltcote is home to a contemporary, design-led gift shop, which you are welcome to visit even if not booked on to a tour. There are giftsets galore if you are looking to buy our sea salt as a gift, and we hope it is more exciting than a classic sea salt factory shop!

Excellent Guided Tour Excellent tour by knowledgable, enthusiastic and occasionally witty Mike. A really interesting behind the scenes look at how they make the world-renown sea salt with the added special touch of a salt-tasting session at the end. It’s expensive stuff is Halen Mon but when you see the effort and care that goes into making it you can understand why and appreciate it all the more.

Wonderful! My partner and I went on a very wet, cool Monday in July. I did end up feeling the whole experience was somehow even nicer in the rain! The water temperature is lovely and warm and so incredibly relaxing. The view is spectacular and so peaceful. We both loved the whole thing. The seaweed creates oil in the water which felt great and my (very dry) skin was really moisturised afterwards. The changing rooms are really good and there are loos in the shop. The staff were super friendly and helpful. One thing I did forget to take was a drink. You do need one (as you can feel a bit dehydrated) - or two - but you can buy them in the shop if need be. Although you are advised not to take valuables, I took my phone to the bath and did take some good photos (there is a hook so you can hang a small bag on the barrel). All in all a lovely experience - very, very relaxing. It's not cheap, but I felt it was worth the cost. I would definitely do it again.

Special treat in the seaweed baths Treated my daughter to a wellness/relaxing experience in the seaweed baths. We really enjoyed it - the views and peacefulness are lovely. The seaweed infuses in the warm water and makes your skin feel great. It was very different and fun. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we would come again for a treat -although it is perhaps a little bit pricey to use regularly. Would definitely recommend it as a unique experience in one of the most stunning parts of Anglesey.

Super seaweed bath in a stunning, tranquil setting We had a fantastic time relaxing in these very special tubs overlooking the Menai Straights and Eryri mountain range with an inquisitive baby bunny and lovely birdsong for company.The natural oil in the seaweed softens the skin and you leave feeling completely relaxed. Thank you Sam for making our seaweed bath a fantastic experience. We were worried about getting in and out of the tubs but that wasn't a problem thanks to your help. We're looking forward to returning soon.

Interesting tour but ridiculous expensive shop took the edge of the enjoyment Booked to go on one of the factory tours and thoroughly enjoyed it, apart from the very spoilt child who threw a very loud tantrum whenever her mother or father didn't do as she wanted. The tour leader coped very well and did his best to strike a good balance for us as, after all, it was not his fault.The tasting was fun and interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed that aspect.Unfortunately, the prices in the shop were beyond ridiculous. We knew the cost of the salt and related items would be expensive, as it is a quality item but the rest of the items for sale, whilst excellent quality, were way out of our reach.We ended up buying nothing, although I would dearly have loved several of the items in the shop. This aspect of our visit was very disappointing.I noticed that no one from our tour bought anything and at least one person said to me that the prices were extortionate.Perhaps an age limit could be considered for the comfort of all visitors and perhaps a single use percentage off voucher could be given to those attending a tour.

Seaweed baths are a great experience , very relaxing with nice views of the strait. Have previously done the tour which was very interesting but this time booked the new seaweed baths as an anniversary surprise. It was a really nice relaxing experience as only 2 of the six baths are available in each time slot due to them having to be cleaned and refilled. If you do want more than 2 people you can book the next slots and specify you want them all at the same time. My wife loved it and we are going to do it again in winter. Thanks to Sam who was very informative and looked after us.

A very interesting afternoon We were booked on the tour of the factory courtesy of some friends as a birthday treat. It was a really interesting experience and we now know a lot more about sea salt production than we did. Lewis our guide was very good and we enjoyed the video.A visit is recommended
