WILD SEAWEED BATHS
For hundreds of years, people have been bathing in seaweed for its nurturing, restorative and healing properties. In warm water, seaweed releases its mineral-dense oils, offering rich relaxation, soothing tired muscles and encouraging escape from the everyday.
This year, using the pure water generated as a by-product of our sea salt harvesting process, we are the first company in Wales to offer a bespoke outdoor bathing experience, celebrating the unparalleled view in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Don your swimming costume and soak in the power of seaweed in your own private upcycled whiskey barrel.
The seaweed we use is incredibly sustainable – it doesn’t require soil, fertiliser, or fresh water to grow, and when harvested at the right time it encourages even more regrowth.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our recycled barrels are wonderfully warm (around 40C), but they are outside to make the most of the elements and our outstanding panoramic view. Please be aware that your dip will go ahead come rain or shine. Every weather brings something different to the experience.
Our bathing area looks directly out to sea and we offer simple wooden changing rooms. We use the distilled water from our salt-making process for our baths – ie it is fresh water. (All the salt has been harvested for you to take home to season your dinner.)
What do I need to bring with me?
Please arrive 15 mins before your start time, and bring with you:
- a refillable water bottle
- a pair of flip flops/ croc-type shoes ( there is wooden walkway of a few meters from the changing room to the seaweed baths)
- a towel
sunhat, suncream and sunglasses if the forecast is bright
please do ensure you have read the disclaimer below before booking, we will ask every member of the party to sign a copy upon arrival.
What facilities do you have on site?
To maximise the healing effects of the seaweed, we strongly suggest leaving the oil on your skin post-bath, where it will be readily absorbed. To this effect, there are no showers on site.
Please make sure you bring your own towel.
We have toilets near the baths in our Visitor Centre, as well as two lovely changing sheds.
We do not recommend you bring valuables on site
How long does my bath last?
Each bath lasts 45 minutes – plenty of time to soak in some restoration and the incredible view. Please arrive 15 minutes before your booking time so we can settle you in and you can have the maximum amount of time in the barrel. Late arrival will unfortunately result in less time in the barrel.
Will the bath go ahead in all-weathers?
Your dip will go ahead come rain or shine. Every weather brings something different to the experience, and our favourite time for a bath is in the rain!
How do I cancel my booking?
We take full payment to confirm your booking. You can cancel a booking up to 48 hours before the scheduled date, after that we can only change the name of the booking (ie if you’re ill on the day, you can send someone else in your place). No shows for any reason will not receive any refund.
If you would like to cancel your booking please navigate to the My Account page, select the order and click ‘cancel’. Alternatively please give us a ring on +44 (0) 1248 430871.

We kindly ask that you don’t consume any drinks or snacks purchased off-site other than water.

Do you have an access statement?
Unfortunately, this experience is not currently suitable for wheelchair users due to the following:
- Flag stones, pebbles and wooden decking lead onto wooden stepping stones set into grass which lead to the changing huts
- The huts each have a slightly raised floor
- There is a slight incline to access the flat area where the barrels are located
- The barrels are approximately 120cm high with water up to approximately 100cm
- There is a sturdy 3 step 50cm wooden ladder to climb over the barrel edge and onto the wooden seat inside the barrel, approximately 60cm down
