More than a factory tour

Discover how a family kitchen experiment became one of Wales' most celebrated food producers.

Join us for an engaging behind-the-scenes experience where you'll uncover the story, science and people behind Halen Môn Sea Salt. Whether you're a real food lover, curious about local produce, or simply looking for something unique to do on Ynys Môn, this tour offers a fascinating glimpse into a world most people never get to see.

Your visit begins with the story of how Halen Môn started on the shores of the Menai Strait and grew into an internationally recognised food brand.

You'll then explore the journey from seawater to kitchen table, learning how our sea salt is carefully produced, harvested and packed by hand. Through a combination of film, exhibits and viewing areas overlooking the production floor, you'll gain an insider's view of a process that many visitors describe as 'surprisingly fascinating.'

Finish with our guided salt tasting, which introduces you to the unique character of Halen Môn Sea Salt and some of our most popular products.

Why visitors love it

  • A fascinating look behind the scenes of a working Welsh food producer
  • Interactive salt tasting included with every tour, plus a tiny takeaway
  • Exceptional views across the Menai Strait and Eryri (Snowdonia)
  • A welcoming atmosphere that combines learning with genuine hospitality
