The Halen Môn Team
We are a small yet strong team of twenty something people, a Jack Russell called Bella and a chocolate labradoodle called Jolene, who can normally be found trying to snaffle somebody’s sandwiches.
We have been a family business since the very beginning, and Alison and David’s three children all work for HM in different ways.
We think it is as important as it is reassuring to know that your food has been made by a real person. That is why we add the initials of each packer onto every single pouch and tube of sea salt we produce.
You can match the initials on your salt to the pictures below:
Production Team Leader (GJ)
Gareth loves Manchester United, the Manic Street Preachers and his family.
Not necessarily in that order.
Dispatch Team Leader (EJ)
Nothing is ever too much trouble for the man who revolutionised our dispatch room; Eifion enjoys a job well done, stacking and wrapping our pallets and is a keen photographer.
Salt Harvester (JFH)
Our longest serving employee John has not lost his passion for sea salt. He likes to holiday with his family to Zakynthos and is fascinated by how the ancient Greeks used to harvest their sea salt.
Guide & Retail Assistant
Stuart, has retired to Ynys Môn from the South of England, since arriving he makes sure he has time to enjoy the mountains and coast. While not at Halen Mon he is a volunteer for the HM Coastguard on the North side of the island
Born and bred in Bethesda north Wales Darren loves the mountains, trout fishing, the Super Furry Animals and anything Zombie related.
Salt Harvester and Packer (JP)
If he hadn’t been a salt harvester he could have been a professional darts player, and Jim also loves cycling, and washing his Astra at all opportunities.
Ronan has a rich and varied background in the meat and supermarket industries, as well as a secret past life as a competitive Irish dancer.
Iona is into all things environmentally-friendly and loves going to the gym.
Hamish, Jake and Jess
Alison and David’s children all work in the business in a huge range of different ways – from building and maintaining this website to filming the tour video and coming up with new products. One thing which always brings the three together is a love of their mother’s good food.

Before joining HM, Eluned worked wonders in Caban, the Bull’s Head and Electric Mountain. She has a weakness for a a good tractor, and has known Alison longer than either of them care to remember.
Before joining Halen Môn, Sam was a chef at River Cottage in Devon. He loves cooking with the seasons, geeking out about sourdough and playing badminton

Salt Harvester and Packer (KS)
Kate is one of our newest employees. In her spare time, she enjoys the occasional horse-ride alongside plenty of walking and loves reading anything by Agatha Christie.
Bella enjoys playing fetch with the miniature neon yellow rugby ball, worrying the ducks and also likes to eat Nicki’s biscuits.
Since starting the company in 1997 Alison has created many wonderful flavours of Halen Môn and travelled the world to sell it in such far flung places as Hong Kong, Dubai and New York.
