Five festive cocktails

by | Dec 10, 2024

Glittering glasses of cheer for the festive season. From frozen blood orange margaritas and a perfectly smoky negroni to a no-alcohol shrub with plenty of character so nobody feels like they’re missing out. Serve with a salty snack.

Pomegranate + clementine Jin Môr martini

Cold, potent and powerful – the perfect festive cocktail.

Lemon and ginger shrub with rosemary tonic

Although this recipe requires you to plan ahead, it does make enough to serve a crowd and any extra shrub can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 months, just top with sparkling water or tonic. The apple cider vinegar gives this a dry, distinctively adult flavour, without any after-effects the next day.

Frozen blood orange Margarita

An absolutely excellent cocktail to create some magic even on those darkest of winter days – deliciously balanced and a very pleasing colour.

The key to a good cocktail, as is the key to much good food, is to keep tasting and adjusting.

Hamish’s smoky negroni

Hamish, part of the family who run Halen Môn, is well-known amongst his friends for making a killer Negroni. His secret is twofold: using Jin Môr and a few drops of our Oak Smoked Water.

This play on a classic cocktail, said to have been created first in Florence, when a count tweaked his usual Americano (campari, sweet red vermouth and soda) by swapping the soda for gin, is famous for its bitter strength and deliciousness.

Red Snapper / Bloody Mary

This cocktail, taken from our recipe book, Sea Salt, is the perfect way to recover from a rather festive evening the night before. We’ve provided the ideal base for the cocktail and suggested plenty of optional extras, to keep things interesting. The golden rule is to use the best vodka (Bloody Mary) or gin (Red Snapper) that you can buy.
