Halen Môn was delighted  to host a visit from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on a return visit to Anglesey last week.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge returned to their previous home in North Wales to meet individuals and organisations in the region who are encouraging people to look after their communities and protect the natural environment.

Whilst at Halen Môn, both the Duke and Duchess learnt the special techniques that make the product sought after around the world, from Heston Blumenthal in London to Dan Barber in New York City. 


The couple also enjoyed a tutored sea salt tasting from Halen Môn’s Rob Jardine, to see what makes Halen Môn different. They also had the opportunity to taste two new products : a salt-distilled gin, Jin Môr, made at Aber Falls, and a sea salt cheddar from local co-operative South Caernarfon Creameries. 



The royal couple met with both Alison and David Lea-Wilson MBE, co-founders of the business, as well as two of their children, Jake and Jess, who both work in the business.



The royal couple also met Sam Lomas, head chef at Halen Môn’s cafe Tide/ Llanw.


Upon leaving, the Duke and Duchess were presented with a first edition of Halen Môn’s book, Do Sea Salt, and the very first bottle of Jin Môr, their sea salt-distilled gin.
